Optically Clear Adhesive (OCA) is a substrate-free double-sided adhesive film designed for bonding two optical components together. The primary application of OCA is in touch display modules, serving as the bonding layer between various optical components in devices such as smartphones, tablets, automotive central control panels, e-readers, industrial computers, conference tablets, and outdoor displays. Within touch displays, OCA provides three key functions:
- Bonding of different structural layers
- Ink step filling
- Enhancing display contrast through full lamination
Depending on the display design, the type, thickness, and quantity of OCA used will vary. Common touch display structures include GFF, GG, OGS, In-cell, and On-cell configurations.
